Recto of manuscript leaf from a treatise on law in Latin.

Uncertain if canon or civil law. England, ca. 1510 (?)

Manuscript on paper (no visible watermark); the predominantly legal content and lack of illumination would indicate ownership by a law student. Written in a chancery hand (secretary-influenced) in light brown ink, in a single column of 21 lines. Two-line calligraphic initials and capitals in red ink. Marginal notes used to indicate the letter to be inscribed.
