This album is part of a collection of photos found beneath a stairwell in a home in the historically Black Albina neighborhood in Portland, Oregon. The homeowners donated the photo collection to Oregon Black Pioneers in 2018.

Through research and examination of the photos, it is believed that the collection originally belonged to McAlma Lucille Thomas Hastings. The dates of the photos, except where inscribed, are approximate.

Most of the individuals pictured remain unknown. Oregon Black Pioneers welcomes and appreciates information from the public which could help identify the subjects of this collection.
