Abstract
Hesitant Claim To Life is a collection of poems on the modern experience of spiritual agnosticism and uncertainty. The poems engage in conversation with American Evangelical Christianity and the cultural capital of the religious ideologies embodied by it. At once assertive and inquisitive, the speaker of these poems asks questions of themselves and the divine, leaving space for the echoes that return.
