Abstract
Ambos is a collection of stories detailing the author’s childhood experience of moving from New York City to a rural town in Ecuador. The stories span genres from autofiction to memoir to magical realism. Major themes include identity and individualism, gender and sexuality, parent-child relationships, and cultural assimilation. Some stories contain accounts of bullying, alcohol use, sexual assault, and child abuse.
