Abstract
This thesis submission contains two works. "Perfection of Perseus" is a short screenplay about a young woman who tries to finagle herself into her friend’s avant-garde stage play rehearsal. Her plans are thwarted by her mischievous brother who steals the spotlight and casts her into the outer darkness.
The second work is a draft excerpt from novel-in-progress, The Hanged Witch, about a physician-alchemist and his young apprentice who flee a dying kingdom having stolen the strangely persuasive corpse of a hanged witch. Death haunts their footsteps.
