Abstract

Rupturing Silence(s): Memoir of a Voice is a dynamic book-length essay, or a memoir of voice, built of fragments mirroring the snapshots of memory we hold onto in moments of voice and voicelessness. These moments are confined in a conversation of fragmented vignettes portraying the ways in which we are silenced, physiological and psychological reasons for those silences, and their rupture. This project follows the intersections of my interests in science and philosophy, as well as my experiences with cPTSD and neurodivergence. I hope to open a conversation about how we can hold space for the voice, the silence, the blurriness that lives between, and the ways in which we heal from rupture.
