Abstract
Life is a series of moments that unfortunately can not be looked at all at once but can take on a form over a period of time. Every last moment builds on the next. The mediums used not only allowed form but dictated abstract, 3-dimensional compositions referred to as: construction. Every wooden board, piece of paper and brushstroke of paint, marks a moment in the development of the completed construction. The layering of mediums exposed the process of construction as a creation, not just the artist's personally informed intention towards the mediums. The mediums and the scale of each piece, approximately 8'x8', want to encourage a physical as well as visual dialogue. The abstract compositions being 3-dimensional project out from the wall about three feet. The constructions are not traditionally 'crafted' but are assembled in a composition of expressive spontaneity utilizing a building process with a sense of open-endedness. The scale of each piece can physically invite human engagement with a visual as well as a physical solidity.
Objects dialogue with each other on many different levels. The body and the earth continue a wonderful duality everyday for all of us. Such contrasting scales create a physical vocabulary, giving us a perspective not only of ourselves, but ofhow important a world can be for existence.
