Abstract
“Getting Close” is a collection of short pieces, some fiction and some memoir. It’s not important which is which.I’m interested in the barriers we face when it comes to connection, and how aloneness can often be more sensual than togetherness. I’m interested in the places we find respite from the pain of existing within societal pressures. I’m not interested in acceptability. I write toward a world in which we do not have to be anything other than ourselves.
