Carl Rowan, an American government official, journalist and author, spoke in Session No. 3 of the "America, 1984" All-University Conference at Portland State University.
One of the most honored reporters in the United States, Rowan also served as U.S. Ambassador to Finland in 1963. Dr. Hamilton and Multnomah County Circuit Court Judge Mercedes Diaz also spoke.
