This lecture by Carl Sagan, an American astronomer, astrophysicist, and popularizer of science, was published under the title Planetary Exploration by the OSSHE in 1970. Dr. Sagan gave two presentations as the 1968 Condon lecturer at Portland State. The Condon Lectures, named for Oregon's first professor of geology Thomas Condon, were delivered annually at PSU, UO, and OSU.
