Carl Braden, a union and social justice activist, worked alongside his wife Anne as a field organizer for the Southern Conference Educational Fund, a leading organization supporting integration and civil rights. Braden focused his energy on the SCEF monthly newspaper, The Southern Patriot.
Transferred and preserved by Portland State University Library’s Special Collections with the generous support of the Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Oregon State Library.
