Michael Houck was interviewed by Claire Puchy and Sy Adler on November 6, 2023.
Houck was the urban naturalist for the Audubon Society in Portland, Oregon, for 35 years starting in 1982. He is now Director Emeritus of the Urban Greenspaces Institute.

Michael C. Houck was the urban naturalist for the Audubon Society in Portland, Oregon, for 35 years starting in 1982. He is now Director Emeritus of the Urban Greenspaces Institute, which he founded in 1999 and directed until 2021. He was also a co-founder of the Coalition for a Livable Future, and directed the Wetland Conservancy’s Urban Streams Council in Portland.

"People and the Land" is a collaboration between the Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development and Portland State University.
