Abstract
The chapter focuses on the Roberts, the Oregon Political family. The chapter explores the following questions:
- To what elements or events would you attribute that start of this particular political dynasty?
- When did the dynasty's power peak? When did its authority and influence begin to decline? Was it decline due to changing times or norms or was it a matter of personality or character?
- Were there conflicts between generations in this dynasty that were familial in nature but also became translated into political terms? Did familial tensions bleed into politics as sibling rivalries or relationships with parents affected who continued the dynasty?
- Why did the dynasty end? Does its ending say something important about the dynasty?
