W.R. Lee and Erastus R. Richardson established the Portland Times in 1918 and its office was located in the Abington Building. Other contributing members were dedicated businessmen and include J.D Emery, William J. McLamore, Dr. James Merriman M.D., William D. Allen (owner of The Golden West Hotel), and George P. Moore. The paper ceased publication five years later but left invaluable proclamations within its pages.
