Abstract
Editorial.
In this article, the author focuses on strength-based practices across the human services which are overwhelmingly deficit-oriented. Topics discussed include its relation with the ideologies of efficiency and effectiveness; effects of entrenching an expert-driven knowledge generation process; and contributions of resiliency research on instances where traditional research approaches forecast deficit whereas young people defy such forecast and achieve positive outcomes.
