Abstract
Portland State is creating educational opportunities in Oregon's only women's prison. Deb Arthur talks about the year-long course themed Metamorphosis in partnership with Coffee Creek Correctional Facility.
Excerpt from the introductory remarks:
Incarcerated and formerly incarcerated students is probably the biggest inclusion and equity problem that we face in higher ed. Only 4% of formerly incarcerated people receive college degrees, so that's a huge gap; that's a big number.
