Biographical
Michael J. Paine was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. He holds a BA in Philosophy and English from Fordham University, and a Masters in International Agricultural Development from the University of California at Davis. In between degrees he served in the Peace Corps in forestry. In 2004 he began a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm, Gaining Ground Farm, with his wife, Jill. Jill Paine is the farm operations manager of Gaining Ground Farm, a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm. She holds an undergraduate degree in Sustainable Development from Colby College (Maine).
