Biographical
John Martinson Jr. is the owner of Birds & Bees Community Farm. He wanted to be a farmer at an early age, and at eighteen spent a year on a farm in Denmark as an exchange student. Without a farm to inherit or money to purchase land, decided to pursue his interest in literature. He attended UC Santa Cruz, earning a BA in Literature, and went on to graduate school, earning a MA in English Literature. Throughout his college years, he spent his spare time gardening and volunteering for agricultural projects. Before finishing his PhD. he realized his passion for farming, and began pursuing it in earnest.
