Older adults often face challenges with mobility and accessibility, which can limit their independence and quality of life. This seminar will explore these issues and lessons learned from the research to improve travel experiences and satisfaction for older adults. Highlights the importance of considering diverse dimensions of older adults' needs. Found a significant dissatisfaction and vulnerability experienced by older adults with limited mobility. Identified the need for addressing the critical accessibility and mobility gaps with older adults. This webinar is based on a study funded by the National Institute for Transportation and Communites (NITC) and conducted at the University of Utah. Biographical

Andy Hong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of City & Metropolitan Planning at the University of Utah. He is the director of the Healthy Aging and Resilient Places Lab, whose mission is to create healthier and more resilient places. His research focuses on the interplay between the built environment and human health, with a particular interest in developing place-based approaches to healthy aging. Andy previously held positions at the University of Oxford, the George Institute for Global Health, the University of British Columbia, and the Korea Transport Institute. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Southern California and his graduate and undergraduate studies at the University of Washington. Zihao Wen, University of UtahZihao Wen is a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Utah. He works in the TransAnalytics lab, which has a diverse portfolio of research projects ranging from software development and field implementation of innovative technologies all the way to methodological and theoretical contributions to the field of transportation.
