Abstract
This article reports on the classification of library technicians and the role of job descriptions in collective bargaining. The classification of library technicians was revised by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) organization, affecting salary ranges for employees on university campuses including the Oregon University System (OUS). The article discusses the effects of these changes related to the changing job market, equity in wages, and unionization. Information is also provided on library support staffs and library management.
