Biographical
Anna Donner (née Spisla) was eleven or twelve years old when her family moved from Montana to Vanport after World War II. She and her parents, brother, and sister were living in an apartment in Vanport in 1948 and were evacuated during the Columbia River flood, which destroyed their home.
In this interview with PSU student Jenna Jula, Donner recalls highlights of her youth in Vanport and her memories of the flood and its aftermath.
