Biographical
John Elmore and his family moved to Vanport from rural Oregon in the mid-1940s, during his elementary- and middle-school years. In this interview with PSU student Jenna Jula, Elmore recalls boyhood pastimes (including visits to the Vanport Theater) and describes examples from Vanport of cultural and technological shifts taking place during WWII.
