Abstract
The article presents the author's views on the experiences of African American women of being discriminated in the trades as of October 2016. She explores her experience of working with tradeswomen at a pre-apprenticeship program in the construction industry as well as the efforts to combat racism and sexism. Also discussed are the apprenticeship system, microaggressions, and the hardships faced by tradeswomen at work.
