Abstract
We have seen published polemic studies, some of them more accurate than others, about the etymological and semantic origin of trabajar and trabajo. In the field of modern philology it is not new to wonder about the evolution of TRIPALIARE as most problems that have derived from it have already been solved by the contribution of notable philologists. The aim of this brief study is to analyze the existing theories about this word and further contribute to understanding the relation between the Latin root and the English words travail, travel.
